The Cennen Arms is located within walking distance of Cennen Lodge. It serves wonderful home cooked meals using locally sourced produce and is the heart of the small village of Trapp. The owners of Cennen Lodge also own and run the pub and are happy to share ideas for activities and days out in the area. Spend the evening propping up the bar, gossiping with the locals or enjoy castle views from the beer garden in summer.

"We went for a 6 mile walk with local Welsh speaking folk as we are learning the language. The walk ended at the "Cennen Arms" a lovely local pub very near the amazing "Carreg Cennen Castle" I must say that we found the people delightful, very warm and friendly. I also totally disagree with another review which suggested they are unable to cope with larger numbers. When we arrived the pub was full. They were very busy but produced very good food, drink and the entertainment. Happy faces all round and no sign of stress at all. We were made to feel very welcome. I would recommend this pub to anyone especially if you want to experience the real Wales."

"Every time we return home, this is the one pub we always find time to visit. Little has changed from the time we walk to the "castle" youngsters passing the Cennen on our way. Whether it is for a pint of local real ales, bar snack or meal this is an ideal place to stop on a lazy Sunday afternoon drive across the Black Mountains or a quite romantic evening out. Even though the Cennen has changed hands over the years it still has that family atmosphere and welsh welcome when you enter."

"Been here a few times and I thought I would leave a review as it is a hidden treasure. It has a spectacular view of the castell carreg cennen and not far from the castle itself. The food is so scrumptious and they have a wide variety. The mixed grill will literally fill you all day and the meat is cooked perfectly. Try their chicken cymru aswell which is divine. Over a this pub has everything, good food, good beer and good service. We are now regulars."

"Staying nearby underneath the castle and popped in for Sunday lunch after many people in the visitors book in our cottage recommended it. Despite the fact that we were the only people there for the duration of our meal we were treated as old friends and the 'traditional pub' atmosphere was palpable even though the numbers were lacking. The food was delicious and plentiful - the lamb chops were particularly fantastic - and was served quickly and with a smile. Very good value, friendly pub - even with only 2 guests!"

"The Cennen was recommended to me by friends from the village. We had a wonderful meal gammon steak which was large, thick and succulent, and lamb chops from the specials board again absolutely cooked to perfection. A lovely bottle of nice cold Proseco and a great real ale for the hubby, a wonderful evening would highly recommend the Landlord and Landlady very friendly - nothing was too much trouble . Looking forward to our next visit."

"Popped into this pub today for a quick lunch with our one year old and black Lab. Fantastic welcome ! Our dog was allowed to be off the lead in the bar area much to the delight of our son who has recently started walking - both kept each other amused ! We both had scampi and chips - generous portions to say the least (I couldn't eat all mine as I'd had a late, and large, breakfast). The locals at the bar chatted away to us and it felt like a home from home. We hope to stay in Llandeilo again next year and will definitely return ! Thank you for the great, traditional, winter pub hospitality and warmth. Jon, Jane, Alexander and Pennell (woof !)"
